AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
